The Bryor Rhodes Band presented to the Prospect Community Foundation Amphitheater to perform, and provide live entertainment for Paris, Illinois locals. Paris locals gathered outside of the amphitheater preparing themselves for the show ahead and the weather permitted. Umbrellas and raincoats were all essentials for this evening’s performance. Just behind the amphitheater was local vendors who set up along Union Street for the Union Street Market. The market featured local small businesses such as Two Brother’s Honeybees, Finnalise Creations, Sweet Country Rhoads, along with so many more! Locals roamed the market while waiting for the show to start. At 7:00 p.m. Bryor Rhodes took the stage introducing himself, Bryor standing solo presented in a top hat with a turquoise and white striped shirt including hints of maroon and black, paired with blue jeans and a pair of cowboy boots. Bryor kicked off the show with covering a Zach Top and a Luke Combs song, shortly leading into singing Keith Whitley’s “When You Say Nothing At All.” Bryor’s deep vocals kept the audience enthused and engaged in the performance. As he held his guitar finishing the cover of Keith Whitley’s song Bryor stated “I am going to sing a newer song for some of y’all out there, Treaty Oak Revival Do we got any Treaty Oak Revival fans out there? Surely someone likes Treaty Oak Revival.” Bryor began singing.
After a couple more songs, Bryor announced:
He will be covering a song by Oliver Anthony. He discussed with the audience of Paris locals “Oliver Anthony’s words have truth behind them.” Bryor proceeded to encourage the audience to give Oliver Anthony’s music a chance. After performing the Oliver Anthony song, Bryor stated “I am going to sing a song by Blackberry Smoke.” Bryor opened up about his experience with the band and discussed that he thinks they are better live than they are on recording, “they are kick ass!” Bryor enthusiastically stated. Bryor covered some Waylon Jennings shortly after. As Bryor continued to perform his band joined him on stage. The show proceeded as the crowed sat under their umbrellas in the rain eager to watch the remainder of the performance.
The Bryor Rhodes Band presented with such an encapsulating sound. Incorporating their deep vocals, simple harmonies, simple song forms, and a reliance on acoustic and electric instruments. This band is most certainly a must see and you will not be disappointed at the performance they bring!
