Avatar is continuing their ascent to metal esteem this Halloween with the release of Don’t Go In The Forest, the band’s 10th studio album. Described as “not just an album, it’s an invitation to step beyond the ordinary and into the strange,” Don’t Go In The Forest already displays Avatar’s tonal range with the four available tracks released thus far. In The Airwaves sounds like a textbook death metal song in some parts, but as always, they stand out from the genre’s noise by adding elements of power metal. With a very different sound on the surface, Tonight We Must Be Warriors feels like every line and note lifts the listener higher.
