Paris VFW to Host Full-Day Holiday Celebration on December 13 Benefiting Reserve Syndicate

The Paris, Illinois VFW is preparing to host a full day of festive holiday events on December 13, 2025, offering something special for families, children, and adults while raising funds for Reserve Syndicate, a  veteran founded and operated nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans. The celebration will begin with a family- and children focused gathering during the daytime, featuring a visit from Santa Claus, holiday activities, seasonal treats, and a warm environment aimed at bringing the community together. Families are invited to enjoy the magic of the season and create memories while supporting a meaningful local cause.

As the evening approaches, the venue will shift into an adults only celebration. Beginning at 9:00 PM, the VFW will open its doors exclusively to guests 21 and over, with festivities running until midnight and a projected end time of 1:00 AM. The adult portion of the night will include a humorous and highly anticipated Dirty Santa, a raffle and VIP section, along with a wide range of themed beverages. Attendees can enjoy bourbon themed specialty drinks, signature bourbon cocktails, frozen Jack and Coke slushies, and additional holiday inspired options crafted to elevate the experience and bring a unique flavor to the night.

One Brick Shy is set to bring their signature high energy Southern Rock and Country sound to the stage, delivering a performance packed with personality and crowd moving intensity. The band is known for its unique set lists blending familiar radio hits with deep cut underground tracks audiences won’t hear anywhere else, creating a show that stands out in the regional music scene.

Fans can expect a tight, polished performance built around powerhouse vocals. Much of the band’s dynamic centers on lead singer and rhythm guitarist Jason Nebergall, whom the group considers one of the top vocalists in the area if not the very best. Adding to the excitement, rising guitarist Layne Haddix, known for performing with The Tommy Kelly Band, will join the group as their guest lead guitarist for the evening, bringing sharp, expressive leads that elevate the band’s sound.

One Brick Shy never shies away from what they play. Their set spans fresh, modern artists like Zach Top, Ole 60, Red Clay Strays, and Koe Wetzel, all the way to timeless classics from Marshall Tucker Band, Joe Walsh, and Tom Petty a blend that keeps audiences guessing and delivers the kind of variety that defines their shows.

The group’s lineup also includes Carl Creasy on keyboard, Derek Eitel on bass, and Allen Banfieldon drums, with their sound engineer proudly considered an essential sixth member of the team.

This upcoming gig came to life after Heather VanArsdale saw One Brick Shy perform at their Fourth of July show at Mill Creek Lake a crowd of more than 500 and an unforgettable atmosphere. Impressed by their energy and crowd connection, she knew instantly that they were the perfect fit for this fun filled event at the VFW.

Presale tickets for the evening event are available online for $8, with admission priced at $10 at the door. All online sales and presale access can be found at: From Santa to Spirits: The Reserve Syndicate x VFW Post 3601 Christmas Bash

Community members are encouraged to secure tickets early to ensure their place at what promises to be a lively and memorable night.

Every part of the day from the family festivities to the late-night adult celebration will directly benefit Reserve Syndicate. By attending, the community supports the organization’s mission to assist veterans and  through essential programming and outreach efforts. The Paris VFW invites all residents to join in a day filled with holiday cheer, community connection, and meaningful impact.
