Everbloom releases “The Day We Said Goodbye (Reggie)” for those who experienced pet loss

On January 8, 2026- Everbloom released their brand new single “The Day We Said Goodbye (Reggie)” that expresses the journey of grief when someone loses a pet and how much emotional turmoil can occur. The vocals in the single is like a whisper that encapsulates emptiness and vulnerability. As I listen to this single; I can resonate deeply to it because my moms dog passed away on December 31 and I watch my mother everyday put a fake smile on her face. And you can see the pain that lingers in her movements.

The Day We Said Goodbye (Reggie)” carries an ache that will never disappear. You can sense the vocalist trying to keep his composure throughout the whole song and at times it collapses with anger when the heavier vocals comes in. The soft vocals could be seen as the person trying to talk to their pet that’s gone and expecting their presence to come back. And the heavier vocals is when the person realizes that they are not coming back. The singles instrumentation is not heavy, but has a lone tone that can resemble what grief can sound like.

Our dog passed away last year, for almost 10 years she was my world. I got to spend so much time with her and it was still not enough. It’s hard to put into words the grief and loss that I felt when we said goodbye, this song helped me explore those feelings. The pain never goes away but this song has helped me move forward in the grieving process, and I hope others who’ve lost a loved one can relate and find comfort in it.” – Vocalist Austin Eannace-Caro
