Exhorder an American thrash and groove metal band hits the road on a new tour for 2026. The Unforeseen Circumstances Tour comes to El Paso, Tx after touring around the rest of Texas and before heading west to Arizona. The crowd was hyped as it is always exciting to see Exhorder at the Rockhouse Bar & Grill. Opening for them where two local bands Hellslain and March of Cronos. Exhorder brought with them a fellow Louisiana band Slowhole and their friends Phobia from California. There was a full range of metal happening at the Rockhouse.
The two local opening bands Hellslain and March of Cronos have seen a lot of action on the Rockhouse stage, and the fans love them as they have really set fire to the El Paso rock scene so far in 2026. Many fans as they entered the building went straight to the stage when they heard both bands playing, they brought the great borderland heavy metal sound to the Unforeseen Circumstances Tour. I will do a more extensive dive into these two bands as the year progress’s they will be opening for a lot of bands this year.

Slowhole a powerful sludge and doom metal band out of New Orleans, Louisiana, brought the energy and precision of sludge metal to the stage. Vocalist Shannon Arsenault owned the stage with every song performed. Songs like “Something is Happening to Me” and “Only Pain & Suffering Will Make You Realize Who You Are” or even “I Am Going To Kill You Until You Die” really show the depth of their message with driving guitar riffs and distorted vocals that scream out to your soul.
Slowhole released their self-titled album in 2024. It has such impacting cover art that you just know you’re in for a ride when you listen to the songs on it. Their music brings you to a point where you just want to jump on stage with them and create a rebellion. You have to listen to it to understand. I am hoping they come back to El Paso sometimes soon.

Phobia from Orange County, California they have been driving the grindcore bus since 1990, with a punk style grind metal that has heavy music that deals with corrupt government, the darkness of humanity and corporate evil, seems they have been pointing this out for 36 years and nothing has changed. People, we need to start listening to what Phobia has to say. With driving bass to power hungry guitar riffs and strong vocals, this band is delivering a powerful message to the world. This band ripped through the crowd and got them up on your feet, I am not sure I know how I missed this band before now.
With the latest count of 6 albums out, this band is keeping you on your toes with hard driving grinder metal. Songs like “So Full of Hate” and “Bling Arrogance” with songs like “Bring The War” pretty much let you know how they feel about world affairs. Let’s keep our eyes open for hopefully a new album from them soon. I know I have added them to my set list already.

Exhorder New Orleans thrash metal Gods are out spreading the word of their new album, Defectum Omnium, the fourth album released in 2024 since 1990, they have been touring off and on since 1985 with the current line up since 2017 with Kyle Thomas as the front man ever since the beginning. He is the driving force that keeps Exhorder alive.
The excitement level of the crowd grew as they entered the stage to bring everyone from the back of the venue to the front. Thomas himself is someone you just want to listen to with a white beard and balded head he gives off the energy of what thrash metal should be. Opening their show with “Legends of Death”, and “Unforgiven” just set the tone for the rest of the night as they performed some old and new songs, as they performed “Year of the Goat” and off their first album the song “Exhorder” and ending with “Desecrator” from the same album Thomas connection with the crowd was so fun to watch as they listen to everything he had to say between songs cheering him on. The floor was cleared for a mosh pit and circle which included two people that continually circled the crowd during the whole performance.
According to many sources, there is a fifth album in the works to be released in 2027, and their fans will be eagerly awaiting that release. If you want to follow Exhorder check out these links.
