Mimi Barks releases another single before her US tour Debut. Today she released “Dreamstate of Hell” as the next chapter in her DOOM TRAP world. The track feels raw, urgent, and deeply personal, pushing further into the tension, grit, and truth that has come to define her sound. With its late-night, surreal visuals and a constant sense of motion, fire, and collapse, the video mirrors the unrest at the heart of the song and marks the beginning of Mimi’s darkest and most focused era yet. The Video was produced by Ruben Cardenas of SMLE, and mixed once again by Owen Claxton, who also mixed Mimi’s album This Is Doom Trap and has worked with Bring Me The Horizon and MOSKITO, “Dreamstate Of Hell” arrives with a striking new video directed, produced and filmed by Death Tour singer Demi Yo’Ko and Mimi Barks in her new neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles.
Barks aways bring a unique flavor to her music using all her talent in every song. This song and video represent what the US is in for as more songs are revealed. Barks have already been drawing fans from this side of the pond, and her presents here will amplifier the thirst for more of her music.
Barks’ explanation of the song takes you into her mind as she states, “Sometimes it feels like the world is slipping into a dreamstate of hell and most people do not even realize they are asleep inside it,” Barks continues by saying, “Everywhere I look, I see noise, decay, violence, distraction, and now war becoming part of the daily landscape again.”
Then says, “But to me, heaven and hell are not places waiting for us when we die. They’re states of consciousness we create every day while we are here in the flesh. The real question is what you choose to feed: the poison or the light.”
Then she finishes with, “‘Dreamstate of Hell” was the first song I wrote after moving to Los Angeles, and it became the starting point for everything that followed. It is also the first single from my upcoming EP, “Dreamstate of Fear.”
Joining the DEADDOLLZ 2026 Tour on April 15 with GG MaGree and headliners Little Missy Nasty, Mimi Barks will be a great addition to an already killer line up. If you want to look up more about Mimi Barks check out these links.
