The Sunshine Coast music community came together on Sunday evening as the Sunshine Coast Music Industry Collective (SCMIC) presented the 2026 Sunshine Coast Music Awards at The Shed, Palmview, celebrating the artists, venues, industry professionals and creative contributors helping shape the region’s thriving music scene. Bringing together musicians, music workers, venue operators, industry representatives and music lovers from across the region, the second annual Sunshine Coast Music Awards showcased the depth, diversity and strength of local music through a night of live performances, networking and recognition.
Throughout the evening, awards were presented across 11 categories recognising artistic achievement, industry excellence and community contribution, while performances from Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe, Chris Cobb, Cora, The Phosphenes, 8 Ball Aitken and Buttermello provided the soundtrack to the celebrations.
Among the night’s major winners, Katie Noonan was recognised with Artist of the Year, Live Act of the Year and Musician of the Year, while Marshall Hamburger took home Rising Star. Elsewhere, Deline Briscoe received the Indidge Award, Frank and Louis were named Young Artist of the Year, and Che Burns claimed Song of the Year for ‘Devil Like You’.
Adding to the occasion, internationally renowned Australian artist Xavier Rudd presented the Song of the Year award to Che Burns. Other presenters included AYLA, Minnie Marks, Shannon Carroll, Andrea Kirwin, Dan Nebe (Musicare / Project Olympus), Kristie Ellis (QMusic) and several other special guests, who helped honour the artists, venues and industry professionals shaping the local music community.
