Los Angeles based Pop singer CASANDRA recently released her new single “Solution” that embodies the space between who you want to become as well as who you were. “Solution” longs for liberation and the listener can understand that feeling through the vocal performance of the narrator. The single represents that internal restriction, but it also provides the layers of self acceptance and creating a space that you can feel like you belong.
“Solution” is a story of the progression of learning about yourself and that sometimes you need to re-write your own story because a happy ending is deserved. Embrace who you are and accept that you should not feel out of place in your own skin.

The artist also just released another single “WANT VS NEED” that has more of an ethereal soundscape with vocals that sound like a whisper almost representing the intuition within yourself. It feels like an intimate confession that echo’s within yourself through life because sometimes we may want something, but down the road that want is not necessarily a need. CASANDRA‘s vocals in “WANT VS NEED” is restrained and euphoric that brings the listener on a journey of following your own instinct’s and allowing yourself to not be controlled by other wants.

Interviewer: For new fans out there, can you give us some insight about who you are as an artist and what inspired you to create music?
CASANDRA: “Who I am as an artist reflects who I am as a human girl. There’s not much separation. Everything about the human experience inspires me to make music. It’s not really something I think about, it’s just what I must do.”
Interviewer: You recently released a new single “SOLUTION” that’s bright and immersive, can you tell us the core message of that song and what do you want your fans to feel when they listen to it?
CASADNRA: “At its core, this song represents a sense of belonging and the relationship we have with ourselves about where we belong in the world. When listening I hope people feel like they can belong anywhere they want because they can.”
Interviewer: As a female artist creating music that represents vulnerability, identity, and strength, were there any personal experiences in your life that led you to create these tracks on your upcoming EP ISLA TRANQUILITA?
CASANDRA: “A plethora of personal experiences certainly did inspire ISLA TRANQUILITA. Both good and bad experiences, but some were really, really bad. ISLA TRANQUILITA was a world I needed to build for myself to create peace in my life. It was an intention that began as daily changes in my life and ultimately transformed into music that became an album with the metamorphosis.”
Interviewer: ISLA TRANQUILITA will be released on May 15; is there a reason why the EP is called that? And do you feel like this EP represents who you are as an artist right now?
CASANDRA: “ISLA TRANQUILITA means “little island of peace” in Spanish. It’s a special place of retreat that is there when you need it and I’m certainly in it right now.”
Interviewer: If this EP is a chapter in your life, what does it close and what does it open?
CASANDRA: “ISLA TRANQUILITA closes the doors of fear and control, while opening all windows, doors and skylights for an inflow of peace, ease and enjoyment.“
Interviewer: You’re releasing a new single “WANT VS NEED” pretty soon; what is the main theme of the song and how will fans be able to resonate to it?
CASANDRA: ““WANT VS NEED” is one of my favorite songs on ISLA TRANQUILITIA. It’s primarily about a kind of introspection I often experience. I think listeners will resonate with the romantic and dreamy tones while also finding curious bits of the lyrics relatable in their own life story.”
Interviewer: How do you know when a song is “finished”?
CASANDRA: “It’s just a special gut feeling.”
Interviewer: Last question; when fans listen to your new EP; what do you want them to take away from it?
CASANDRA: “It’s meant to be a little cup of peace for you whenever you want it. This music is like a friend who is always there for you, a voice that validates and supports what someone might be experiencing, a presence that invites comfort or even just presence alone.
ISLA TRANQUILITA is meant to be there for you when you need it, like someone you love saying: “I really am here for you.””
