After a period of relative silence, Joji returns with not just a new album, but with a full scale global arena tour that reaffirms his position as alternative pops most interesting and talented artist. The emotional legacy left by hit songs such as “Glimpse of Us” and “SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK” are perfect precursors to his new 2026 album “Piss In The Wind” that showcases a darker, cinematic version of the artist.
Few artists from the late 2010s internet have been able to keep such a low profile while having a lingering dominance in their genre. Outside of occasional updates, the artist remained very quite online until the sudden rollout of “Piss In The Wind” and the announcement of the SOLARIS Tour.
As Joji’s newest edition to his catalog, the album was able to reach #500 on Billboard 200, #1 Indie Store Album Sales, and hit #1 on both alternative and pop albums.
Many Joji fans have been pleased with the artist’s return to many of the sounds that were heard on past albums such as “Ballads 1”, but “Piss In The Wind” captures that feeling of emotional distance on a bigger canvas. Instead of sounding like someone crying in their room, the experience is more like an emotional projection across a cinematic landscape. Collaborators such as Giveon, 4batz, Yeat, and Don Toliver really help drive home that gritty but atmospheric style the album is aiming for.
For longtime listeners of Joji, the SOLARIS Tour feels like the return of an artist whose absence only deepened the connection that fans already had with the him and his music.
