On May 29, 2026– Metalcore band from North Carolina; Ghost Choir released their brand new single “Make Me Believe” ft Jeremy DePoyster of The Devil Wears Prada. Within seconds of the song starting; it gives nostalgic metalcore energy that helps us relive the early 2000’s when we first fell in love with certain bands in the genre. And with the single having a featured artist that we all grew up listening to as teenagers made myself realize that nostalgic metalcore will be relevant in modern times. “Make Me Believe” is emotionally charged with harmonic vocals with an infectious rhythm that makes the single feel so familiar. The transitions between the melodic and harsher vocals showcases how dynamic the vocalist can be.
“Make Me Believe” is a single that truly represents that you need to be confident in choices that you make in life. Trusting your decisions and embracing the reality of life that holds so much uncertainty and broken fragments. The instrumentation in “Make Me Believe” captures the emotional turmoil and creates an atmospheric soundscape that resembles the difficulty with choosing what’s the best for you
Interviewer: How would you describe your sound to someone hearing you for the first time?
Ghost Choir: “I think we are an unashamed metalcore sound! We just love riffs, breakdowns, and catchy choruses. 2010-2014 warped tour era kind of metalcore for sure.”
Interviewer: What’s the story behind your band name?
Ghost Choir: “I wish there were a better story here. Coming up with a band name is hard! Ghost Choir presented itself to us after a couple hours of throwing other names around. We loved it, and went with it.“
Interviewer: What artists or genres have influenced you the most?
Ghost Choir: “We love The Devil Wears Prada (shoutout Jeremy for featuring on our newest song!) We’re all fans of bands like Underoath, Saosin, blessthefall, and Conditions. We’re always throwing around music in the group chat. The new Static Dress, 156silence and Dying Wish are some of our faves right now.“
Interviewer: “Make Me Believe” was released recently; can you give us some insight about the core message of the song? And what led you to have Jeremy DePoyster featured?
Ghost Choir: “Having Jeremy on is a dream come true! He’s one of the best to ever do it, so when he agreed we were elated. The song is based on a dream I had. The core concept of the song is that no matter what decision you have to make, you should make the decision with confidence. Things are rarely black and white – it’s about bravely venturing into the grey.”
Interviewer: What do you hope fans take away from this release?
Ghost Choir: “The track makes us feel nostalgic for an earlier era of metalcore. We hope people hear it and it gives them a breath of memorable air.”
Interviewer: What emotions were you hoping to capture with this release?
Ghost Choir: “There’s a guitar lead in the song that comes back up a few times, and that gives me a feeling of hopeful chaos. Ultimately I hope it’s a song that makes you feel excited and happy to sing along.”
Interviewer: What was the most challenging part of creating this track?
Ghost Choir: “Honestly it was waiting to put it out. We wrote the song, had a few potential feature opportunities, and Jeremy slotted in. We couldn’t wait. We’ve had the song written for about a year.“
Interviewer: How have fans reacted to the single so far?
Ghost Choir: “It has been really encouraging. To anyone who has told us they like the song, or it sounds like any of their other favorite bands, it means a lot to a new band like us. THANK YOU!“
Interviewer: What does this song reveal about where the band is right now?
Ghost Choir: “That we’re just getting started and we have a lot more riffs in the bag. Can’t wait to keep them coming!“
