Godsmack Brings Rise of Rock World Tour 2026 to New Mexico

The night was picture perfect as the sun was setting in Albuquerque with a crowd gathered at the security gates ready for a jammed packed music experience. Godsmack was in town with their Rise of Rock World Tour 2026. They brought with them two powerhouse openers, Dorothy and Stone Temple Pilot. Audiences were talking about this tour for months now it was here in New Mexico and the crowd was ready.

Dorothy an American Rock band that after forming in 2014, Rolling Stones Magazine announced them has the 14^th out of 50 Best New Artist of 2014. By 2016 they released, Rockisdead album. 4 albums and 2 extended play digital downloads later Dorothy has grown in popularity. They are not just a powerful female singer they are a band with a killer vocalist, Dorothy Martin, Nick Perri guitarist, Eliot Lorango bassist and Jake Hayden on drums. Together they bring you their southern hard rock sound that tells incredible stories.

As the lights went down and the band entered the stage, the audience cheered and then started jumping up and down as Dorothy entered the stage. She was wearing black leather pants and a white-flowing top with black boots. They opened the show with “Down to the Bottom” followed by “The Devil I Know” from their latest album, The Way released in 2025. The crowd went wild and when they performed their last song “Elevate” they were asking for more.

Stone Temple Pilot have been rocking the stage since 1989 when they wowed their fans in California, they rose from the grunge scene but as they have evolved and experimented, they can also be considered psychedelic rock, bossa nova and even country. I am sure if they put their mind to it, they can do anything. Stone Temple Pilots are regarded as one of the most successful rock bands of the 1990s, having sold more than 18 million albums in the United States and 40 million worldwide that decade.

As they entered the stage with music pouring from the speakers, they started their performance with “Dead and Bloated” off their debut album Core; the second song was “Wicked Garden” from the same album released in 1992. Then they performed, “Vaseline.” After that it was a continuous flow of hits after hits, and the band had the crowd on their feet.

Godsmack the star of the show, starting out in 1995 in Massachusetts, they are descripted as an American rock band growing out of the post grunge and nu-metal scene. The band lead singer and rhythm guitarist Sully Erna, bassist Robbie Merrill, and lead guitarist Sam Koltun and drummer Mike Mangini. The band has been nominated for multiple grammy awards. In 2001 they won Billboard charts, Rock Artist of the Year, and they have won multiple awards from the Boston Music Awards. They have 12 albums with their most recent album, Godsmack Live at Mohegan Sun in spring 2026.

Before they entered the stage, they raised a big curtain in front of the stage with the Godsmack emblem on it. “For the Love of Rock (We Salute You)” by AC/DC, Fog rolled off the stage around the curtain, and the crowd got more excited when the curtain fell, and the band filled on stage. As lead singer Erna joined the rest of the band on stage, they cheered, yelled, and screamed. They opened with “Surrender” followed by “You and I” and from the 1000hp album, the title track, “1000hp”. With a full stacked line up of songs from “Straight Out of Line” to “Love-Hate-Sex –Pain” the closed out with three encores, with the last one was “I Stand Alone”.
