If you’re a fan of pop music or Taylor Swift, chances are you have heard of the artist Sabrina Carpenter. She has been in the music industry for a while but only recently has gotten the exposure and attention she deserves after all of her hard work. She embarked on her short and sweet tour to celebrate her album short and sweet, eventually adding more dates for a second leg of the tour including five stops in New York City. I was fortunate enough to attend the Pittsburgh night 2 show and it was everything I could have expected and more. As someone who did not have the chance to go to Taylor Swifts “Eras Tour” (a tour which Carpenter was an opener for select dates and a surprise guest) I couldn’t miss the chance to see this phenomenal tour. It was a mixture of a concert and a broadway musical with background dancers, a set that was built to resemble a house, and a heart shaped platform that raised up as well as down to make a conversation pit style look for a spin the bottle style game, her way of choosing a surprise songs that she changes every night. She also had costume and even microphone changes throughout the show as well as a segment where she “arrested” somebody she thought was attractive. It was a very exciting and electric atmosphere being around other fans dressed us as her in her costumes from the shows, full of sparkling lace and sequins, as well as fans reminiscing about the Taylor Swift eras tour and everything in between. Her opening acts included Amber Mark and Olivia Dean, both put on phenomenal performances to get the crowd excited and amped up for Sabrina. Carpenter just recently released an album titled “Man’s Best Friend” and she incorporated some of those songs into the album, which was special because the cities she added for the second leg will be the first cities to hear them live!
