On January 23, 2026- Pine Creek Academy released their EP “Liminal” alongside an official music
““Liminal” is a song about leaving the world behind but still having to see your loved ones carry on. It’s a place of purgatory, being forced to see the hurt and damage that was left behind. They can see the emotions of the ones they cared about but can only look over them as they are no longer here with us in life. Sometimes it may seem like taking your own life is the only option but there are many other consequences to consider. “Liminal” portrays the idea that we get stuck inside a liminal area waiting our transition.“
“While there, we see our loved ones and all the struggles they now carry with them. The character wants to reach out to console or help the ones they look over but can do nothing about it. They try to make the connection but can never reach to the other side.” – Keith Gensure
Interviewer: Does the EP have a central theme to it? If so; please give an explanation of why the band decided to create music based on this theme?
Keith and Nick: “There’s not a theme necessarily. However, most of the songs tend to overlap meanings and go hand in hand with one another. Most of the record deals with being lost, stuck and overcoming hardships.”
Interviewer: With this EP release; can you give us a little insight about each song and the meaning behind it?
Keith and Nick: “”Headfirst” This song is about the overwhelming obstacles we face each day. Trying to overcome the stress we deal with on a daily basis. Whether that be paying the bills, getting through the work day or dealing with relationship problems. This one portrays the feeling of wanting to “jump out the window”.
Wasting My Time – This track focuses on betrayal. Getting fooled time and time again but coming back for more is what this one’s all about.
Everybody Knows – This track follows “Wasting My Time”. Everybody knows you’ve got to get over it and move on. Sometimes we just need to sit and feel it for a bit. It’s not always simple walking away from a situation.
Dandelion FT. Jack The Underdog – “Dandelion” reverses the meaning of the previous track, “Everybody Knows”. Rather than being the one getting worked over, this track takes the point of view of someone who’s toxic to their significant other.
The Divide – This song is a feel good track about pursuing our dreams and happiness. Sometimes the little voice in our head tells us we aren’t good enough. “The Divide” is a reminder that we are strong enough to follow our passions. The road may not always be clear but the outcome is always worth the trials and errors.
Suffocating – “Suffocating” is basically what the title states. It’s when we’ve had enough and feel like life’s suffocating us. It gets harder to breathe as all of our responsibilities pile up. We just want to find relief and feel the pressure lifted from our chests.
Liminal – This one is the title track for the EP. It’s a state of transition from one phase of life to another. Momentarily being stuck watching from the outside. It’s the feeling of leaving everything and everyone behind. Wanting to return to help others but not able to find the road back.”
Interviewer: While creating this EP; is there a specific song on the track list that you feel will have the strongest impact on the listeners?
Keith and Nick: “We believe that most of these songs can impact our listeners depending on what they may be experiencing in their personal lives. If i had to choose one i would say “Liminal”. I often feel numb and always think that I’m not doing enough. Finding it hard to move myself into the next place I need to be. Often feeling like a “ghost in the window.””
Interviewer: What songs are you most excited to perform live and why?
Keith and Nick: “My favorite songs to perform live would be “Everybody Knows” and “Liminal”. The synth heavy tracks with more “feel” are always more fun to play live. It sets a vibe on stage that’s easy to get lost in.”
