On February 3, 2026- Indie pop/rock band Voxtrot released a brand new single “My Peace” and announced that they will be releasing their new album Dreamers in Exile on February 27 via Cult Hero Records. Fans have been waiting 18 years for this new album!
“My Peace” is an emotional single that expresses the difficulty of being your true self when you are in certain situations. The vocals in “My Peace” feels so authentic that it makes you feel like the vocalist is having a confession through the lyrics.
Ramesh Srivastava speaks about the single below:
“Director Ed Daugherty and I met years ago through a mutual friend in Los Angeles. In 2015, he directed the video for the title track from my first solo album, ‘The King.’ I was both thrilled and surprised when he rang me up out of the blue in early 2024 and asked if Voxtrot had any new material that might warrant a video.
I sent him ‘Esprit de Cœur’ and ‘My Peace,’ and he came back with the suggestion that we make videos for both songs! Shortly thereafter, he rolled into town with a full production crew, and we spent four amazing days filming across Lockhart and Austin. The locations included everything from bucolic farmland to sound stages with sports cars.
As the director, Ed will have the defining statement, but for me, the video is a love letter to Texas — and maybe even more specifically to the town of Lockhart, where Matt, Jason, and I live. It’s a strange but magical little world we inhabit, populated by dusty roads, corn silos, and storefronts that have not changed much since the days of cattle drives.
Texas is a crazy place, and while I have a complicated relationship with it, deep down I love it because it’s my home, and I feel compelled to stay and fight the slow battle of being my true self within this often challenging environment. As I noted to photographer Annie Gunn when we were conceptualizing the album cover art, during these past few socially and politically tense years, I have felt sustained by the joy of making music out in the sticks with my bandmates. It really has felt like we are dreamers in exile.” –
