Interview with Kyle Ward from Loco Estilo Ink!

Kyle Ward is a tattoo artist that deserves recognition due to his outgoing personality and his willingness to help create art that his clients love. I had the opportunity to do an interview with Kyle to step into the world of tattooing and understand him as an artist in that aspect.

Interviewer: Can you tell us a little about yourself? And how long have you been a tattoo artist?

Kyle: “I have been tattooing for about 15 years now. I’ve worked at shops here im Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and Florida. I like all forms of art.”

Interviewer: How would you describe your tattoo style?

Kyle: “Tattooing is my passion. I strive to continue to improve my skills.”

Interviewer: Do you prefer working with full creative freedom, or do you like detailed direction?

Kyle: “I really enjoy doing custom pieces that no one else has. I love color.”

Interviewer: What’s something clients often misunderstand about the tattoo process?

Kyle: “Most misunderstood thing about clients is they don’t always understand how long a tattoo will take. And the process of creating one.”

Interviewer: How do you ensure longevity in your tattoos (linework, shading, placement)?

Kyle: “Aftercare is important for the longevity of a tattoo. It’s very important to follow the artists instructions.”

Interviewer: What’s the most meaningful tattoo you’ve ever done?

Kyle: “The tattoo I have done that meant the most was Probably, the one I did on my dad for my grandpa.”

Interviwer: Is there a tattoo myth you’re tired of hearing?

Kyle: “

Interviewer: How do you as a tattoo artist make a client feel comfortable when it’s their first time getting a tattoo?

Kyle: “I’m a very outgoing positive person that loves to laugh so I try and make every client feel important and have a good experience, so they keep coming back.”

Interviewer: Advice for aspiring tattoo artists?

Kyle: “Advice for up and comers I would just say. Never stop learning. And it’s not about you it’s about the client.”
