If you’re a fan of music of any genre chances are you have heard of vinyls and the different variations and “pressings” of them that have came out and if you’re an avid collector of this type of physical media, chances are you want the most sought after and rare/limited edition options you can find. That is where Record Store Day comes in! Every year, usually on a Saturday in April, many artists release record store day specific pressings and even special edition gatefolds of their albums or even live albums, and local record stores work to help them get into the hands of fans. Some artists releasing records during this record store day includes Taylor Swift, Paramore, and Bruno Mars just to name a few but there is a whole list of different genres and even movie and tv show soundtracks that will have special pressings. This years record store day is set for April 18th and fans line up for hours to try to get their hands on their most wanted releases. Record store day is only a one day in person event, but if you are unable to make it in person to get what you would like, most record stores put their leftover stock for sale online the next morning for fans to purchase and have it shipped to them which helps record stores and customers alike!
