Chance The Rapper returns to perform in North Carolina for the first time in nearly a decade

Chance The Rapper returned to North Carolina for an emphatic performance in Charlotte at the TD Amp Ballantyne. Alongside on tour is Winston-Salem songwriter, TiaCorine. It kicked off his summer series tour celebrating the 10 year anniversary of “Coloring Book,” Chance’s third mixtape project.

Starting off the night, he opened with his grammy nominated track “No Problem.” The song which features Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, gives us a heartening gospel sample in the background that puts you in an automatic good mood. Diverting for a moment from the classic tracks Chance would continue to perform songs from his most recent album, “STAR LINE,” such as Tree and Ride. A project that released in August 2025. The album highlights the use of soulful samples and production along with a dive into Chance’s lyrical ability. It notably addresses Chance’s growth, career complications, and personal reflections.

Alternatively, have you ever had the joy of singing in the rain? That’s exactly what happened while Chance began to perform “All Night.” Another classic from the Coloring Book album which gives the audience a high tempo production that overwhelms you with positivity and good energy. Not even the rain could stop the crowd from dancing and singing together just overall enjoying the energetic atmosphere.

One of the many highlights of the night was getting a chance to hear “Ultralight Beam.” A track which features Chance alongside the iconic Kanye West. It’s a no brainer why Chance was chosen for this song with the use of gospel samples and dynamic synths. The crowd was singing word for word as Chance rapped through his verse. No matter what your beliefs may be, this song simply provides you a sense of spiritual joy, emotional uplift, and confidence.

Despite being away from live performances for quite some time the Chicago native can still draw a good crowd and uplift his audience with his tunes. The performance perfectly mixed his nostalgic classics with a touch of his newer tracks. The tour is a reminder that Chance The Rapper has a number of beautiful songs in his catalogue that you can’t negate. He is a true representation of his music that exemplifies a rooted faith, overcoming adversity, and gratitude.
