On April 24, 2026- Brooklyn, NY artist, YONAH released his very reflective debut album Bird of Miracles that represents self-growth, acceptance, and introspective of his childhood and all the memories it held. The album encapsulates understanding your own identity, religion, rebellion, and reconciliation . The album is also a tribute to his late father and the values that he had. Bird of Miracles is the chapter of a book that keeps evolving into more pages and with each lyric it brings the listener on a journey of emotional depth and resilience.

“This album is an ode to my father, a way of saying goodbye to my childhood, embracing adulthood, and accepting the man I’m becoming. I was always rebellious growing up, pushing back against religion, God, and the institutions I was raised in. It’s taken time, but I’ve come to love and respect where I come from, and I carry a deep gratitude for my father and the values he instilled in me. Religious or not, I owe my life to him, and the only way I can move forward is by blessing the past.” – YONAH

Interviewer: For new fans out there, can you give us some insight about who you are as an artist and what genre of music that you create?

YONAH: “Hello new fans! My name by birth, and my artist, name is Yonah. It means Dove in Hebrew. I believe myself to be in a process of discovering who I am, and I hope the process never stops. But for now I am an obsessive guitar player, a songwriter who craves the unraveling of stories, and a producer for my friends! My music mostly falls in the indie rock/folk world but I don’t consider a boundary.”

Interviewer: You just released your debut album Bird of Miracles;  What did you want this debut album to say about who you are as an artist?

YONAH: “Ideally I’d like it to be perceived as just that, a debut! It is riddled with boyish imperfections and a lot of improvisation. It feels like an exploration and I hope people can listen to it and finish craving the next chapter. The more mature.

Interviewer: Which song became the emotional center of the record?

YONAH: ““Family Dinner” through and through. It’s the last song I wrote for it and the last on the tracklist. It holds the soul of what the project is about. Family, giving gratitude to the past, and looking forward to what’s coming.

Interviewer: What themes kept appearing in your writing without you realizing it at first?

YONAH: “Weirdly animals became a theme and I didn’t know I loved writing around them until this project. Another more emotional theme was a form of grieving and coming to terms with the past. I think a lot of those feelings first emerged as a sort of blurred anger and the more I was able to write through it the more I came to appreciate and find the process therapeutic.

Interviewer: Is the album meant to tell a story from beginning to end, or is it more like snapshots of different emotions?

YONAH: “Definitely more of collage than a through composed story. One day I’d like to say that I’ve composed an album that has one thread but this album was written over the course of a couple years and came to be without the thought of a direct through line.

Interviewer: What does releasing a debut album mean to you personally?

YONAH: “It means I’ve accomplished something! When I am truly able to step outside my head and appreciate the work put in it makes me joyous knowing I am capable of putting in the hours. It is a work of heart and soul and it has inspired a form of internal pride that I cherish very much. I am very hard on myself very often and since putting it out it’s been easier inside to know that I can push.”

Interviewer: How has finishing this album changed your relationship with music?

YONAH: “It hasn’t changed a thing, except knowing that I will be working harder for the next one.

Interviewer: What part of yourself did you discover through writing this record?

YONAH: “Truly the biggest thing is work ethic. Making a record is fucking hard! I wanted to bash my head on the floor countless times through the process, and maybe I did once or twice but I’m still standing quite solidly.
