On June 5, 2026- Slush Puppy released his new single “Killin Butterflies” that metaphorically captures the innocence of falling in love, but that love becomes toxic and the beauty you once saw is now being consumed by a dark shadow. The single is such a collision of genre-blending of grunge, emo, trap, and EDM that encapsulates the core meaning of the single with each genre adding it’s own tone to the single. The distortion in the vocals represents the emotional instability between the clean melodic singing, but then the grunge vocals come in that makes the single overstimulating in the best aspect. “Killin Butterflies” feels like an experiment that is waiting for disaster.

‘Killin Butterflies’ is about being addicted to someone who destroys the very things you love about them. The butterflies represent innocence, beauty, and that feeling you get when you’re falling for somebody, and the song lives in that tension between passion and self-destruction.” – Slush Puppies

As a performer, Slush Puppy brings the same restless, genre-blurring energy to the stage that defines his records. This past winter he served as opening act across all five dates of Rhea Raj‘s Commotion Tour, hitting Chicago, Toronto, New York City, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles with sets built on bone-rattling drops and live abandon, sending crowds into motion before the headliner ever took the stage.
