
The late great original singer of Iron Maiden Paul Di’Anno who later formed the band Battlezone. They released their debut album, Fighting Back in 1986, that laid the groundwork for future heavy metal bands. Now 40 years later Battlezone has re-released the blockbuster album.
Chipster PR and Consulting reports that four decades later, Fighting Back remains an essential document of 1980s heavy metal and to celebrate this 40th Anniversary Deko Entertainment has remastered and repackaged this landmark release from the former Iron Maiden frontman. It will be available in August on 180G vinyl in two Limited Edition colors, CD, and contains the bonus track “Rising Star”.
For fans of classic heavy metal, collectors of NWOBHM history, and those who continue to celebrate the enduring legacy of Paul Di’Anno, Fighting Back stands as a powerful reminder of an artist who never stopped fighting.
Fighting Back captured Di’Anno’s unmistakable grit and intensity while showcasing a revitalized creative fire that reaffirmed his status as one of metal’s most commanding frontmen. Re-releasing the album is a total honor to the legend who was the frontman of Iron Maiden from 1978 to 1981 who later in his solo career he fronted bands like Gogmagog, Battlezone, Killers, Rockafellas, and Warhorse. After multiple health issues, he continued to perform in a wheelchair. After his passing there were many tributes and benefit concerts. Heavy metal lost a strong force in 2024 and was joined by fellow frontman Ozzie Osbourne with other great legends we all know there is an awesome heavy metal concert in heaven.
