On June 19, 2026- Paola Martell released her debut single “Nocturnal Prayers” that feels enchanting almost like turning the pages of a fantasy novel. The dreamy instrumentation represents the essence of storytelling and how the narrator creates the parallel atmosphere between the real world and the fantasy aspect of another world. The shimmering and soft textures of the single blends well with Paola’s euphoric vocals that embraces the listener in warmth.
Interviewer: How would you describe your sound to someone discovering you for the first time?
Paola Martell: “I would describe my sound as cinematic, dreamy, and nostalgic. It’s inspired by old films, old music, and the feeling of being caught between fantasy and the real world. I love combining elements of magic with my own experiences and emotions. I love creating a world around my music, rather than just something to listen to.“
Interviewer: What first inspired you to pursue music seriously?
Paola Martell: “Before I am a singer, I am a storyteller. Ever since I can remember, I’ve expressed that through acting, dancing, writing, daydreaming, and singing. There isn’t really a specific moment that “inspired” me to start, it was just a matter of time. It always felt inevitable. I truly think that storytelling is what I was put on this world to do, and music has become one of my favorite ways to bring those stories to life.”
Interviewer: Was there anyone who encouraged you to take the leap and release your own music?
Paola Martell: “It was a combination of the people closest to me but also myself. My own growth has pushed me to take this leap and stop waiting for “the perfect moment”. I knew there was nothing else I wanted to do in life. It’s simply something that I’ve been thinking of doing since, well, forever.”
Interviewer: “Nocturnal Prayers” will be released soon, can you give some insight about the core message of the track?
Paola Martell: “At its core, it’s a song about love and devotion. It’s not about religion, but about a love so sacred it feels nothing but holy. Somewhere between wanting and worshipping.”
Interviewer: What made this the right song to introduce yourself to the world?
Paola Martell: “I feel like “Nocturnal Prayers” is a perfect representation of the world I want to build around my music. The combination of the electric guitars with the orchestra, the themes of romance and magic. It feels like reading the first page of a book and inviting others inside.“
Interviewer: What part of creating music brings you the most joy?
Paola Martell: “Like I said, storytelling. For me it’s not just about music, but about building worlds around it too. It’s like film. That’s why the visuals are just as important to me as the songs.”
Interviewer: Has creating music changed the way you view the world?
Paola Martell: “Absolutely. I find inspiration in anything. Nature, people, books, conversations, movies, random objects, and even the most ordinary moments that I would’ve probably overlooked before. It is so beautiful to realize that we have art all around us.”
Interviewer: What do you hope your story can inspire in listeners who are chasing their own dreams?
Paola Martell: “I hope it reminds others that you do not have to have everything figured out in order to start chasing your dreams. It is always scary to start, but the fear will never go away until you do. If it’s something that’s been calling to you, do it. Don’t let your dreams stay as dreams.“
