Spite brings brutality to The Underground in Charlotte, North Carolina!

On June 18, 2026- Spite performed at The Underground in Charlotte, NC with special guests: REV3RENT, Pyscho-Frame, and Emmure. Today is my first time seeing any of these bands live. You know it’s going to be a sick show, when there’s a guy in a banana suit. The crowd for a rainy Thursday was packed. As always the underground is a safe and clean venue. One of my favorites to go to. Between the food, drinks and the patio. They have everything you need. The merch line was mined up across the venue.

The first band took stage and the stage performance felt like the early 2,000s scene. REV3RENT had attendees constantly moving and head banging that set the vibe for the rest of the night. The band is a rising American death-core band, formed in 2023. Even though the band is fairly new in the scene; you can sense the love and dedication they have through their performance. And fans fed into that automatically which made their set one of the best ones of the night.

PYSCHO-FRAME is known for their dual front-man and the relentless energy.  Formed in 2003 and the band released two EP’s and one album so far. They have such an unique sound. Having a second front man definitely makes this band stand out. With a new reproach to the 2000s death-core. Not only is it nostalgic, but their brutal sound on stage and the crowd interaction made the performance such an innovative experience for myself and others. Their energy sparked a massive mosh pit and heavy head banging. Watching attendees go feral for this band made my body ache because the amount of violence that erupted during their set with bodies flying all over the place only made me think “I wonder how they are going to feel tomorrow

It was Emmures turn to take the stage and there are no words to explain their set besides CHAOS. Not one person wasn’t moving when this band got on the stage. The whole set was one massive circle pit. The energy was so exhilarating. For a weekday show, the set seemed short, but they lit up the venue. With their blend of metal core and Nu-metal. Between the bouncy grooves and the aggressive guitar solos. No one was still the whole set. The crowd got rowdier when they started playing their older music. This is when the banana guy start crowd surfing.

My first time seeing Spite and it’s as amazing as I have heard it is. Darius’s vocals were fierce and relentless that blended well with the heavy instrumentation. He had such an aggressive heavy death metal sound that it truly shocked me because I’ve heard stories of his stage performance and to be able to experience it now; I now I understand why this band is loved this in community. The lights on the stage added to their stage presence and enhanced the performance because we are so use to bands having dark lights, but this was different. It added a more atmospheric vibe. The crowd interaction was intense. With almost constant crowd surfing and a massive circle pit. The crowd was loving it. If you haven’t seen them before. Make sure you do soon!
