Some frontmen demand presence, but it takes true artistry to command respect. Jay from Frost Found Us led The Aquarium a lazy Sunday evening into a frenzy it much needed. Despite their exhaustive return from tour in Colorado, they brought along Twin Cities heroes Your Last Breath for a fantastic sendoff to the end of June.

Opening for them was Fargo’s indie rock mini legends The Sunflower Burial, who even though were missing their bassist, welcomed the crowd with both warmth and heartache. Nate L., vocalist and guitarist of the Sunflower Burial trifecta trio, embraced Fargo with small reminders to love one another and to uplift one another.

And supporting them, at last minute due to an emergency from Perfectly Still, were the doomy dudes from Cthosis. Their vocalist, Nate K. commandeered with his keyboard and guitar on full display which with his powerful voice, called out cadenced chants that ordered existence for H. P. Lovecraft‘s otherworldly creation, the mighty Cthulhu.

As Cthosis‘ thunderous chants soon subsided, came Your Last Breath. Mixing the somber lyrics with upbeat riffs and maybe an occasional joke, Dustan gave Fargo a reality check that life happens in unexpected ways sometimes. Such spontaneous variety unifies us in ways that we’re never expecting to and that’s okay. The realest part of reality we make for ourselves, as one would put it, is if we let it and just go with it.

So, in close, arrived the boys in Frost Found Us, who made the show bounce up and down in unison with its bandmembers. Synonymously from all around the stage, not a single person was not ready to stop the show until they were. From equally engaging riffs, emotionally charged vocals, and epic beatdowns, the hypnotic moves from their drummer/manager Noah M. was absolutely jaw dropping. Frost Found Us frontman Jay did not demand the crowd to engage, they just did. And when the final song came to a close, he informed everyone of future projects that are soon to be released, an invitation to his fans, that things are going to be phenomenal for the next chapter in Frost Found Us’ career.
