Neumann is launchs the U 47 fet Bon Scott Edition, a strictly limited special edition of one of most legendary studio microphones ever made. In association with the estate of Bon Scott, it celebrates one of the most distinctive voices in recorded rock music, and one of the most remarkable microphones in history.

Where Rock History Found Its Voice
Back in the 70s producers Harry Vanda and George Young required the kind of microphone that can keep up with the high-octane volume of Bon Scott’s singing – big, bold and dirty. Their choice was the Neumann U 47 fet.
Thanks to it’s incredible headroom and distinctive midrange presence, the U 47 fet was the microphone at the heart of Scott’s vocals on many of AC/DC’s early albums, even Let There Be Rock. It obtained not only the power, but the personality – making his voice fit between everyone else thunderous guitars without sacrificing any bite. A Studio Legend, Turned Modern Classic
Developed in 1972 as the solid state replacement for the original tube U 47, the U 47 fet became a quick favorite for recording loud and unforgiving sources. The FET version provided great headroom while preserving the character of the complete U 47 lineage.
The fact that the U 47 fet was reintroduced into production in 2014 means that; nearly 40 years later, it is still a Swiss Army knife for engineers throughout the world. It is great for vocals, amps and drums alike.
All of this is perfectly maintained in the ‘Bon Scott Edition’: the sound and performance characteristics are, of course, no different from those of the standard U 47 fet reissue. The impact, clarity and personality are still there.
