Rise Against Releases Two New Songs Ahead of Their Fall Tour

Rise Against releases two new singles, “Katy Bar the Door” and “Living Undercover”, which lines up with their recent announcement of a fall tour.  The Chicago punk quartet has released two songs that have a strong message.

The first song ” Katy Bar the Door” as explained by the vocalist Tim McIIrath, “Katy Bar the Door” takes its name from an old expression meaning trouble is coming and that all hell is about to break loose. “I don’t know where I came across this expression, but I immediately was taken with it,” McIlrath continues, “While an obscure reference now I liked the idea of resurrecting it for this song, and that it sort of fits what it feels like to be alive in 2026.” When I listened to the song, I got that sense of urgency as points out the human reaction to today’s world.  McIlrath says. “Bearing witness to the fragility of democracy is a scary thing, and it demands a response.”

The second song “Living Undercover” is a song about things hiding in plain sight. McEllrath says, “Sometimes it’s because we’re building something beautiful behind the curtain; other times we’re hiding some kind of darkness,” McIlrath adds. “I like the cloak and dagger feel of the song that ties into its central theme.” Rise Against has really tuned into the current situation of what is going on around us and brings that frustration and stress that comes with it.

This was all released after they announced their fall in North America with Alkaline Trio tour as they tour 18 cities starting in Dallas, Tx on September 22, 2026. If you would like to know more about these two newly released songs and their tour, follow the links below.
