Seattle are blackened sludge metal trio STRICKEN will release its second full-length album, From Dark Dimensions An Unspeakable Presence Awakens, on November 6th through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.
The album will feature five new tracks that expand the band’s blend of sludge, doom, black metal, and experimental heaviness. The album themes center on darkness, self-destruction, existential dread, nihilism, and psychological horror. The band describes the material as more dynamic, crushing, and experimental than previous work.
The album’s first preview is “Darkness Impenetrable,” which will be accompanied by a video filmed in Snohomish County Washington, specifically the Cascade Mountain foothills. The video was directed by Ben Schauland. Chris Wozniak describes this song as exploring the experience of confronting an overwhelming and incomprehensible darkness.
STRICKEN formed in Seattle with Rob Ropkins on bass/vocals and Nick Charlton on guitar. They later added Chris Wozniak on drums in 2017. The band released their debut album called From A Well Of Emptiness, A Stygian Serpent Born in 2022.
